The exhibition at the crib museum of Oberau
On December, 2th, 2001 the crib museum of Oberau was opened in one of the eldest house of our village - the Schmiedbauerhaus.

The exhibition includes 12 large cribs in different styles of art and a 12 sqm crib of the year with 25 scenes of Jesus' life built by Ludwig Reiser.

The Alpine, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cribs are presented to the visitors at an area of more than 100 square metres. There are cribs of all shapes and sizes.

The opening hours


July - November: every Wednesday from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm

from 1st Advent to 1st Sunday in February : daily from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm

On Mondays, 24.12. and 31.12.: closed


Special opening hours:

On request we offer special opening hours for our guests who take part in a day trip.
